AWS Cloud

Course description

AWS Cloud, also known as Amazon Web Services Cloud, is a comprehensive cloud computing platform provided by Amazon. It offers a wide range of services and tools for building, deploying, and managing applications and infrastructure in the cloud. Here are some key components and capabilities of AWS Cloud:

  1. Compute Services: AWS provides several compute services, including Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) for virtual server instances, AWS Lambda for serverless computing, and AWS Elastic Beanstalk for deploying and managing applications. These services allow you to run and scale applications and workloads based on your requirements.

  2. Storage and Databases: AWS offers various storage and database options. Amazon Simple Storage Service (S3) provides object storage for storing and retrieving large amounts of data. Amazon Elastic Block Store (EBS) offers block-level storage volumes for EC2 instances. Amazon Relational Database Service (RDS) provides managed relational databases like MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Oracle. AWS also offers NoSQL databases like Amazon DynamoDB and document databases like Amazon DocumentDB.

  3. Networking: AWS provides networking services to connect and manage your resources. Amazon Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) allows you to create isolated virtual networks. AWS Elastic Load Balancing helps distribute traffic across multiple instances. Amazon Route 53 provides domain name registration and DNS services. AWS Direct Connect allows for dedicated network connections between your on-premises infrastructure and AWS.

  4. Big Data and Analytics: AWS offers a suite of services for big data processing, analytics, and machine learning. Amazon Simple Storage Service (S3) is often used as a data lake for storing large datasets. Amazon Athena allows for querying data stored in S3 using SQL. Amazon EMR provides a managed big data platform based on Apache Hadoop and Spark. Amazon Redshift offers a fully managed data warehousing solution. AWS also offers AI and machine learning services like Amazon SageMaker and Amazon Rekognition.

  5. DevOps and Deployment: AWS provides services and tools for building and deploying applications in a streamlined and automated manner. AWS CodePipeline offers continuous delivery and release automation. AWS CodeBuild provides managed build environments for compiling code. AWS CodeDeploy automates application deployments. AWS CloudFormation enables infrastructure as code, allowing you to define and provision resources using templates.

  6. Management Tools: AWS offers management tools for monitoring, logging, and managing your resources. AWS CloudWatch provides monitoring and observability of your applications and infrastructure. AWS CloudTrail offers logging and auditing of API calls made in your account. AWS Systems Manager provides a unified view and management of your EC2 instances and other AWS resources.

  7. Security and Identity: AWS puts a strong emphasis on security and offers various security services and features. AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM) allows you to manage user access and permissions. AWS Key Management Service (KMS) provides encryption key management. AWS WAF offers a web application firewall for protecting your applications from common web exploits. AWS Shield provides protection against DDoS attacks.
